The body governing football in the world released the latest ranking on its official website on Thursday, September 21, 2023. Nigeria was ranked the 40th and best nation among the football nations in the world and sixth in Africa.
The Atlas Lions of Morocco are the best-ranked team in Africa, the last Africa Cup of Nation Champions, Senegal are in second place, and Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt occupy third to fifth place respectively.
World Cup winners, Argentina are the best-ranked team in the world, and the runners-up team in the competition, France are in second place. Brazil (3rd), England (4th), and Belgium (5th) retain their places in the top five.
Croatia, Netherlands, Portugal, Italy and Spain occupy the sixth to tenth place respectively.
