Leonardo confirmed this in an interview with RMC Sport, a news agency in France on Wednesday, August 25th, 2021. He said the club is not stopping Mbappe from leaving, but if he wants to, then it must be at the right fee.
He also said the club has told Mbappe more than once that he is central to the club's vision but not above the project with their offer of a new contract.
Yes, we said no verbally to Real Madrid. No one is been held back. If someone wants to leave and our conditions are met, we all will see. The offer is considered to be a far cry from what Kylian is worth today. We also owe part of this to Monaco and we consider that the bid is not sufficient.
