The President of Paris Saint Germain, Nasser Al Khelafi has spoken about the future of Kylian Mbappe ahead of the 2023/24 season.

The Qatari business owner was speaking at the unveiling of Luis Enrique who was appointed as the new manager of the club. He was asked what the future holds for Kylian Mbappe at the Ligue 1 club.

Al- Khelafi said the position of the club is that Mbappe will not leave PSG as a free agent.

"We do NOT want him to leave for free in 2024. Our position is clear. If Kylian wants to stay, we want him to stay. But he needs to sign a new contract. We don’t want to lose the best player in the world for free, it’s impossible. Mbappé has said that he will not leave for free. If he changed his mind, it is not my fault”.

The 25-year-old signed a two-year-old which is expected to see him stay at the club until 2024 with an option to extend by an extra year. Things went south between both parties when Mbappe told the board at PSG that he will not trigger the extra-year clause.

Mbappe had said in several interviews that he does not want to sign a new deal. This situation has left PSG in a dilemma because they either sell him this season or allow him to leave for free next season.
