Manchester United's midfielder, Nemanja Matic has confirmed that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season despite having a year left on his contract.

The Serbian announced the news on his official Instagram account on Friday, April 15th, 2022. According to the post from the 33-year-old, he has notified the board about his decision to leave the club when the season ends.
After a great deal of thought, I have decided that this season will be my last with Manchester United. I have informed the board, the manager and the players of my decision. It has been a huge honour and a privilege to play for this great club. A big thank you to the fans for their unwavering support. I will now give everything until the end of the season to help my teammates finish as strongly as possible.
Matic joined the Red Devils from Chelsea Football Club in the summer of 2017. He has featured 122 times for Manchester United scoring just two goals. He was part of the United team that won the Europa League when Jose Mourinho was in charge of the club.
