Nigerian forward, Sadiq Umar has released an official statement where he revealed how his injury situation had gone and addressed why he was dropped from the Super Eagles of Nigeria AFCON 2023 side.
The forward revealed that he had picked up a knock in the friendly game against Guinea before AFCON 2023 in which the Super Eagles of Nigeria's medical team had diagnosed as an injury that will keep him out of the tournament for 15 days and as such he had to be dropped by the team.
Sadiq Umar went on to explain that after he was dropped from the Nigeria AFCON 2023 squad he made a trip back to Spain where he was tested and it was discovered that it was nothing but a bruise.

Sadiq Umar was replaced by Paul Onauchu after it was reported that the Nigerian international had picked up a knock in the friendly match played ahead of AFCON 2023 by Nigeria against Guinea.
