Manchester United release a statement on Kobbie Mainoo's injury

Manchester United Football Club released heartbreak news as it concerns the injury situation of Kobbie Mainoo.

The teenager melted his way into the hearts of Manchester United supporters following his amazing performance during the preseason games. Kobbie Mainoo picked up an injury in the game against Real Madrid when he collided with Rodrygo, which has ultimately ruled him out for the first part of the season.

The Red Devils confirmed in a statement released on the club's official website on Saturday, July 29, 2023. According to reports, the 18-year-old will miss the first part of the 2023/24 season.

"Manchester United can confirm that Kobbie Mainoo suffered an ankle injury during the match against Real Madrid on Tour 2023. The midfielder is expected to be ruled out for the first part of the 2023/24 season. He has flown home from Tour to the UK where further assessment of his injury will take place before a medical decision on the next steps."

The club added to its statement, "Everyone at the club wishes Kobbie a speedy recovery."

This injury will be a big blow to the Red Devils as has he been seen as one who could be drafted into the first team.
