The Super Eagles incoming coach, Jose Peseiro has given his verdict about the team's performance at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.

Peseiro was speaking in an interview with an said AFCON is a tough competition and it is a battle between the top teams on the continent. Nigeria were knocked out in the second round by Tunisia by a lone goal.
The African Cup of Nations is a very strong competition between strong teams, including Nigeria who were the best in the group stage but after all the four strongest teams reached the semifinals
He also spoke about the performance of the Egyptians ahead of their semifinal clash against the host nation, Cameroon.

Egypt did not do well against Nigeria but after that they showed their true abilitites, their players gave a good performance against Morocco and that is what they need to win the tournament.
The Portuguese is expected to take charge of the Super Eagles after the African Cup of Nations but the NFF are yet to decide if they will go on with that decision or stick with Augustine Eguavoen.
The Super Eagles next game is a two-legged World Cup qualifying game against the Black Stars of Ghana in March 2022.
