Jurgen Klopp can not seem to catch a break from the injury worries that have been hitting Liverpool since the start of this season.

The latest player to be named on the Red's injury list is its top defender, Virgil Van Dijk. The Netherlands man picked up a knock in the first of the 3-1 defeat against Brentford at the community stadium on Monday, January 2nd, 2023.
It did not seem like a big issue after he was substituted in the game but according to Klopp, the player is expected to undergo a check-up. Van Dijk is now due to have a scan to check out the full extent of the damage but either way, this is going to be a big blow for Klopp.
Virgil felt a little bit his muscle, but he said he's fine and he's a very good judge of these things. I didn't want to take any risk. The physios looked quite happy when I said I didn't want to take a risk. It's not an injury, he just felt the intensity.
Matip is expected to take his place in the absence of Van Dijk.
