This year’s Premier League transfer window is pretty exciting.
Many clubs are spending top dollar to improve their lineups after one of the most unpredictable EPL seasons ever. And although we’re deep into the transfer season, there are still many great young players up for grabs. One of them is Gabri Veiga, Celta Vigo’s 21-year-old central midfielder. And Man City reportedly wants him at the City of Manchester Stadium for the upcoming season.
Who is Gabri Veiga?
Gabri Veiga hasn’t been around too much. He started playing football with Santa Mariña, a small team based in Cabral, Spain. Later, he moved to Celta Vigo’s youth academy, from which he graduated in 2019. He made his senior debut in 2019, and since then he has played for both Celta B and the first team.
Veiga’s playing style has been described as similar to EPL's central midfielder like Eberechi Eze. This shows that he would be a good fit for Manchester City.
Transfer rumours
Gabri Veiga is on the radar of several major Premier League teams, like Liverpool and Arsenal. And, apparently, Manchester City, too, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano. Apparently, City has pulled out of the race for Declan Rice and has turned its attention toward Celta’s midfielder.

Veiga’s release clause is €40 million (around $43 million), which City is said to be glad to pay to have another efficient midfielder besides Mateo Kovacic.
Man City signings so far
So far in this transfer season, Manchester City has signed only one player: former Chelsea central midfielder Mateo Kovacic, which will clearly improve their betting odds at every bookmaker listed at Bettingsites24.co.za/. All other arrivals to the team are players at the end of their loan spell. Perhaps the best-known of them all is João Cancelo who spent the first half of the year on loan at Bayern Munchen. Cancelo has a buyout clause of around £60 million (close to $76 million), an amount Bayern is not ready to pay at this time. The others are Issa Kaboré who returns to City from Olympique de Marseille, Yangel Herrera who spent time with LaLiga club Girona, and right-back Yan Couto, coming home from the same team.
Among the players said to be on Manchester City’s radar this season is Achraf Hakimi, currently a right-back for Ligue 1 club Paris Saint Germain, and RB Leipzig defender Joško Gvardiol, who reportedly already let his current team know that he is willing to move to Etihad. Plus, it is rumoured that Ethan Nwaneri, who became the Premier League’s youngest-ever player last year, is said to be on City’s radar. There are, in turn, other teams interested in him, including Chelsea and Manchester United.
