The body governing football in the world, FIFA has reportedly announced that the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja will never host an international match again.

The decision was taken by FIFA following the decision of fans of the Nigerian team to storm into the pitch after their team failed to qualify for the World Cup. The game ended 1-1 between the Super Eagles and the Black Stars, the Ghanaians qualified on the away-goal rule.
There was also a tragedy after the game as FIFA/CAF doping director, Dr Joseph Kabungo who died on his way to the dressing room after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was confirmed dead on his way to a nearby hospital close to the stadium.
There are no clear indications if the Nigerian team will receive another punishment from FIFA following the unruly behaviour of their fans.
