Mbappe's contract at the Ligue 1 club expires next summer and he will leave as a free agent if he cannot sign a new deal. The 160 million euro bid is the same amount PSG signed the youngster from Monaco in 2017. This placed him as the second most expensive player behind Brazil's Neymar, who was signed for 220 million pounds from Barcelona.
Talk Sports reportedly confirmed the news on its website on Tuesday, August 24th, 2021. Real Madrid have sold a lot of players (Martin Odegaard, Raphael Varane, Sergio Reguilon) in the past transfer window to help fund the deal to sign Mbappe.
There are rumors that Mbappe's exit from PSG will pave way for the French club to bring in Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus. The Portuguese star is in the final year of his contract and has no intentions to remain in Turin next season.
