With his distinct baritone-tinged vocals, unconventional vocal nuances, and captivating narratives that chronicle triumph over adversity, Mohbad, the talented rapper/singer hailing from Ikorodu, has firmly established himself as one of the popular figures in the realm of street-pop. Whether he's unleashing the infectious energy of the scorching pop anthem "KPK" or delving into the intricate realms of heartbreak and betrayal on the Rexxie-produced "Peace," MohBad effortlessly showcases his vivid linguistic imagination and draws inspiration from a deep reservoir of personal experiences, track after track.

In his highly anticipated sophomore EP, aptly titled Blessed, Mohbad wholeheartedly embraces his role as one of street-pop's foremost ambassadors, expressing gratitude towards his loyal supporters while issuing a warning to his doubters. Spanning eight tracks, the talented artist, known as Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba in real life, skillfully moves away from the mischievously playful persona he presented in his earlier EP, Light, released back in 2020.

On tracks like Beast & Peace, MohBad gracefully rides over a picturesque piano-led instrumental, delivering a resolute message about his determination to achieve success. He provides a glimpse into his vision of Sabi, showcasing his growth and ambition. As expected from Mohbad's repertoire, the energy continues to escalate throughout the EP. Collaborating with fellow Ikorodu native Zlatan, they deliver an electrifying flex on Account Balance, while his close friend and creative partner Bella Shmurda adds a captivating dimension to the konto-infused Pariwo.

However, the undeniable highlight of Blessed resides in the profound depths of Ask About Me. In this standout track, Mohbad channels the mysticism of a mob flick while weaving achingly poetic verses that resonate deeply with the listener's emotions.

With Blessed EP, MohBad showcases his mastery of immersive storytelling and linguistic brilliance. The extended play not only pays homage to his supporters but also solidifies his standing as a versatile artist capable of captivating diverse audiences. From the infectious hooks to the raw vulnerability in his lyrics, Mohbad has crafted a body of work that seamlessly blends street-pop aesthetics with artistic depth.
