Yemi Alade kicks off the Mamapiano Tour in grand style in Cotonou

Nigerian Afropop superstar Yemi Alade performed live in Cotonou, Benin Republic, on January 9, 2023, for the first time in over five years.

The last time she performed in Benin Republic was during her Black Magic World Tour in 2018, where over 20,000 people were in attendance. The performance at Vodun Days kicked off the Mamapiano tour, named after her EP that she released in December 2023.

Yemi Alade then posted on social media that she might be going to Cote d'Ivoire for the AFCON2023 preparations. She was part of the artists that sang the Akwaba AFCON theme song and said she was proud of the song in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday ,January 6, 2024 in Lagos.

Yemi Alade has won several awards, including The Headies Award for Best Performer twice, in 2018 and 2019. She is also the first African female Afro-pop artist to hit over 100 million views on YouTube. Yemi Alade's performance in Benin Republic has left fans excited about the possibility of more live performances and collaborations from the talented artist.
