Canadian rapper Tory Lanez has received his prison sentence for shooting Grammy-winning rapper Megan The Stallion in 2020.

Following the court finding Tory Lanez guilty of shooting the Grammy award-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion, the Canadian rapper has finally been awarded a prison sentence.

Tory Lanez was handed a 10-year sentence for the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion in 2020 after they had both attended a party in 2020.

Lanez, who was remanded in custody after he was found guilty on three gun-related charges in December 2022, was convicted of shooting Grammy winner Megan Thee Stallion in the feet, which had left the female rapper traumatized and in need of surgery after the incident.

The shooting took place during their journey back from a pool party hosted by reality star Kylie Jenner. Prosecutors had sought a 13-year prison term for Lanez, emphasizing the severity of the crime and his subsequent actions aimed at humiliating and traumatizing Megan Thee Stallion.

Lanez's defence attorneys argued for probation and participation in a drug treatment program. Whether Lanez might face deportation to Canada remains uncertain.

Lanez's attorney, Jose Baez, indicated that his client intends to appeal the sentence due to perceived flaws in the trial. Baez highlighted the absence of DNA evidence connecting Lanez to the shooting and stressed that Lanez's DNA was not found on the weapon used.
