Women4Africa honours women's achievements at the 10th Annual Awards Gala

The Women4Africa organization proudly commemorated its 10th anniversary with a heartfelt gala on May 11th, 2024. Held at the prestigious Leonardo Royal Hotel in London, the event brought together over 300 distinguished guests to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of exceptional women from across the globe.

The evening shone a spotlight on inspiring women who have made indelible marks in various fields, serving as role models and paving the way for future generations. Among the esteemed honorees were:

  • Ify Adenuga: A celebrated author and mother of four talented children, including the renowned musician Skepta. Her work has been recognized by The Guardian (UK).
  • Lara Oyesanya: A remarkable figure who raised four Oxbridge graduates and also shattered glass ceilings as the only woman on the board of a multi-billion pound FTSE company in London.
  • Abigail Owuo: A strong and dedicated mother of five, including the acclaimed grime artist Stormzy.
  • Bamidele Farinre: A highly respected Chartered Scientist whose exceptional achievements have significantly impacted her field.
  • Marion Van de Voort: A champion within the community, recognized for her invaluable contributions.
  • Vannessa Amadi: A skilled manager who has guided the careers of prominent figures like Tiwa Savage.

The ceremony also honoured other phenomenal women including Dr. Fikelephi Jackson, Adebola Aroboto, Flori Odeyemi, Yemisi Jenkins MBE, Georgina Ajayi-Obe Ayoola, Princess Yetunde Odusanya, and Sharon Betha.

Sam and Tola Onigbanjo, the founders of Women4Africa, expressed their deep sense of pride and unwavering commitment to empowering their community. They emphasized, "We are honored to serve and uplift our community. It's crucial that Africa's story is told by Africans themselves."
