Nigerian superstar Wizkid has made history as the only artist to win NotJustOk's Afrobeats Rumble twice, after emerging as champion of the competition in both 2024 and 2025.
Wizkid became the inaugural Afrobeats Rumble champion in 2024 after navigating a 64-artist knockout tournament featuring some of Africa's biggest music stars.
The Ojuelegba hitmaker defeated Rema in the semifinal to book his place in the final, where he faced fellow Nigerian superstar Burna Boy. Wizkid dominated the final vote, defeating Burna Boy 72% to 28% to claim the inaugural title.
The victory made Wizkid the first-ever Afrobeats Rumble champion and set up what would become a unique record in the competition.
In 2025, Afrobeats Rumble returned for its second edition, once again featuring 64 artists competing in a single-elimination tournament.
Unlike the inaugural edition, the 2025 nominees were selected using data from NotJustOk's Afrobeats Power Ranking, with the 64 artists having the highest cumulative points between January and July 2025 earning places in the competition.
Wizkid was again among the contenders and went on to win the 2025 edition.
His latest triumph means the Nigerian star has now won both editions of Afrobeats Rumble, making him the only artist to have lifted the title twice.
The achievement also means Wizkid has successfully defended the crown he won in the competition's inaugural edition.
While the 2024 final saw him defeat Burna Boy, the 2025 tournament followed a different bracket, with Wizkid and Burna Boy placed on opposite sides of the draw.
With two titles from two editions, Wizkid now holds the record for the most Afrobeats Rumble championships.
The achievement adds another fan-voted distinction to the Starboy's career and places him at the top of the competition's history after just two editions.
