In a historic moment for the Nigerian music industry, Afrobeats heavyweights Asake and Wizkid have obliterated streaming records on the Spotify charts with their new collaboration, "Jogodo."

The electrifying track has officially secured the title for the biggest streaming week for any song in Spotify Nigeria history, cementing the duo's dominance on the charts.

Released as the lead single for their surprise joint EP, REAL (Vol. 1), the track wasted no time in captivating audiences. The record-breaking run began immediately upon release. On its opening day alone, "Jogodo" garnered a staggering 1.388 million streams on Spotify Nigeria. This figure not only marked the biggest opening day for a collaboration in the platform's history but also secured the second-highest opening day of all time, trailing only Wizkid’s own solo hit, "Kese (Dance)."

By the end of the tracking week, the song had surged past the 5-million stream mark locally, a feat previously thought unreachable in such a short window. Globally, the track has already crossed 4 million cumulative streams, topping charts on Apple Music, Deezer, and Audiomack in the process.

The release comes amidst a celebratory period for Wizkid, who recently became the first African artist to surpass 10 billion total streams on Spotify across all credits.
