Here is the latest update following the devastating news of the house shooting of the multiple award-winning singer, Rihanna.

Tranquillity in one of Los Angeles’ most exclusive neighbourhoods was shattered Sunday afternoon when a lone assailant opened fire on the home of global superstar Rihanna. While the singer was confirmed to be inside at the time, authorities report she emerged unscathed.

What happened to Rihanna?

At approximately 1:15 PM on Sunday, March 8, 2026, a 30-year-old woman pulled up to the singer's Beverly Crest mansion in a white Tesla. According to LAPD reports and radio dispatch audio:

  • The suspect fired between 7 and 10 rounds from what investigators described as an AR-15-style rifle.
  • At least one bullet pierced an exterior wall of the mansion, while other rounds struck the property’s gate and a vehicle parked in the driveway.
  • Rihanna was reportedly at home during the attack. It remains unconfirmed if her partner, A$AP Rocky, or their three children—RZA, Riot, and 5-month-old Rocki—were present.

Has the Rihanna house shooter been arrested?

The LAPD responded within minutes of the initial 911 calls. The suspect fled the scene, heading toward Coldwater Canyon Drive. It has, however, been confirmed that the Rihanna house shooter was arrested shortly after the report was made.

  • Location of Arrest: The suspect was taken into custody at the Sherman Oaks Galleria, roughly eight miles from the residence.
  • Evidence: Officers recovered the weapon used in the shooting and noted the vehicle matched witness descriptions of a "dirty" white Tesla.
  • The Suspect: While her identity has not yet been released to the public, she is currently being held as the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division leads the investigation.

Motive and Aftermath

As of Monday morning, March 9, a motive for the shooting has not been established. Neighbours expressed shock at the violence in the star-studded enclave, with one resident telling reporters, "It sounded just like a loud pop... it's not something you expect here."
