Fans of Nigerian dancehall artist Timaya will have to wait a little longer for his highly anticipated album Gladiator.
Originally scheduled to drop today, Friday, June 21st, the release date has been pushed back to July 12th. While the reason for the delay hasn't been officially announced, the wait is sure to be worthwhile.
Gladiator already seems to be a powerful collection of tracks. It follows on the success of the lead single Cold Outside featuring BNXN and this year's infectious collaboration with Tiwa Savage, In My Head.
This year, Timaya celebrated almost two decades on stage. He has been a big figure in the popularization of his style of Afrobeats. This style was remade by artists like Yemi Alade and Gucci.
