Grime heavyweight Skepta has officially announced that his sixth studio album, Fork & Knife, is set for release in early 2026, ending a six-year gap since his 2019 critically acclaimed project, Ignorance Is Bliss.
The Tottenham-born artist, who initially teased the project under the working title Knife and Fork and originally aimed for a 2024 release, described the upcoming album as a deeply personal exploration of his heritage and life experiences. Inspired by the "immigrant mindset," Skepta explained that the title reflects a family saying from his mother: “In this life, we have to work hard, so one day, we'll eat with fork and knife.”
He elaborated on the album’s concept, noting it will capture the contrast between his home life and the outside world: “Being in my house, it smells this way, looks this way, feels this way, sounds this way, and then I leave my house… and it’s like going to Narnia; you’re in the U.K.” Skepta described the record as a “liberating album, of immigrant trauma that was transformed into hyperfocus and success.”
While details about the tracklist and collaborators remain under wraps, the confirmation of the album signals the return of one of the UK’s most influential grime artists to the solo stage. Beyond music, Skepta continues to expand his fashion ventures with his brand MAINS, balancing creative projects as he prepares to deliver what fans anticipate will be a reflective and powerful new chapter in his career.
