Renowned musician, Seun Kuti has spoken out against the media's tendency to wrongly credit Burna Boy with achievements made by other artists.

While in an interview with The Public Republic, Seun Kuti expressed frustration over the media's error. Firstly, he cited instances where Burna Boy was incorrectly credited as the first artist to perform at Coachella in 2020. Meanwhile, Kuti himself had in fact performed at the festival in 2012.

Moreso, Kuti pointed out that Burna Boy's Grammy nomination for Best World Music Album was not a first. He stated that his brother, Femi Kuti had received multiple nominations in the same category.

Additionally, Kuti revealed that his album Black Times was nominated for Best World Music Album. However, it was overlooked by African award organizations.

Basically, Kuti accused the media of consistently ignoring his achievements. Following this, he said, "They didn't mention my name among the Nigerian artists nominated for the 66th Grammys. It's as if I'm from Togo."

Lastly, He urged the media to correct their mistakes and give credit where it's due.
