The footballer who had shared his thoughts on the EP had done so via a tweet with a screenshot of BNXN's Bad Since '97 being his current listen on Apple Music and had simply said, "Melodies" in clear acknowledgement of the singer's output.

Interestingly, after debuting at the number 4 position on the UK Apple music album charts and number 6 on the US counterpart, BNXN's EP currently holds the position of being the third highest charting Nigerian project after Burna Boy's Love Damini and Wizkid's Made in Lagos. BNXN has also made it known that on the project, he took care to craft melodies for different emotions and actions and was not particular about making dance music.

BNXN and Alex have been publicly friends as far back as 2021 when the footballer gave the singer who was then known as Buju a signed jersey.
