The record label of singer Ruger, Blown Boy Entertainment, in its latest press release, has opened up about why the singer has not released a new song.

Nigerian singer Ruger has been absent from releasing new music due to personal and legal challenges involving a former partner, according to a statement issued by his record label, BlownBoy Entertainment.

The label disclosed that the singer has been dealing with the fallout from a lawsuit allegedly filed by an ex-girlfriend, who is seeking damages over claims of emotional distress. Addressing concerns from fans over Ruger’s recent silence, BlownBoy Entertainment said the ongoing dispute has affected the artist’s activities in recent months.

“Personal challenges after someone he dated decided to sue him for alleged emotional distress and damages…” the label said in a statement. While no further details about the case were provided, the label suggested that the issue has contributed to the delay in the singer's new releases.

Ruger, who launched BlownBoy Entertainment after his departure from Jonzing World, is known for hit songs including Asiwaju, Bounce, and Girlfriend. Neither the singer nor his management has publicly commented further on the alleged lawsuit or indicated when fans should expect new music.
