Afrobeats singer Ruger has moved to put an end to ongoing claims that he is at odds with Davido, insisting there is no bad blood between them.
The artist took to X on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 to address the narrative head-on after a fan account suggested his career depended on apologizing to Davido publicly.
The post from @DavidoPolice read: “When you're ready apologize and beg Davido publicly, your song will enter No 1.”
Ruger responded sharply asking, “And did Davido tell you I did anything wrong to him?” He followed up by dismissing the idea of any feud and reaffirming his respect for Davido. In his words: “I love Davido and I know he loves me too. People on his team still repost my shit. I will never believe this agenda that he doesn’t f**k with me except he says it to my face or publicly. But if him talk am, everywhere go first blur Sha.”
Ruger’s remarks appear aimed at separating himself from the ongoing rivalry narratives often pushed by fan communities, especially those tied to the ‘Big Three’; Davido, Wizkid and Burna Boy. While Ruger has been loosely associated with Wizkid FC online, he made it clear that the supposed tension between him and Davido exists only on social media, not in real life.
Davido is yet to react publicly, but Ruger’s comments underline a growing trend of artists pushing back against fan-manufactured conflicts that dominate the Afrobeats conversation.
