Nigerian star Rema continues to break records, especially with being the first African artist to at the 2024 BRITs awards.
Now his debut album Rave & Roses, has officially achieved Platinum certification in France. This makes Rave & Roses the second Afrobeats album ever to reach Platinum status in the European nation.
Released in 2022, Rave & Roses quickly garnered international acclaim. The album, a fusion of Afrobeats with influences of Afro-rave, dancehall, and Arabian melodies, established Rema as a frontrunner in the genre's global expansion.
Fueled by hit singles like Calm Down which reached number three on the UK Singles Chart and later topped the US Billboard Hot 100 with a remix featuring Selena Gomez, Rave & Roses captured the hearts of fans worldwide. The album's success extends beyond commercial achievements, with it becoming the first album by an African artist to surpass one billion streams.
Rema's achievement with Rave & Roses marks a significant milestone for Afrobeats. It joins the ranks of Platinum-selling Afrobeats albums in France.
