Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Rema is set to kick off his tour with a homecoming concert in his birthplace, Benin City.
Scheduled for August 30, the event will take place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium. This concert is particularly special for Rema, whose real name is Divine Ikubor. This is because it will be his first performance in Benin City in six years.
The singer is known for his chart-topping hits like Calm Down, and his recent album release HEIS. Rema's journey from Benin City to global stardom began with his breakout single Dumebi in 2019.
His music has not only garnered significant commercial success but he is one of the leading figures in the Afrobeats genre. The upcoming concert is surely celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Benin City.
