Nigerian singer Peter Okoye has once again addressed criticism on social media after a troll claimed he was irrelevant without the defunct P-Square group.
The exchange unfolded on X (formerly Twitter), where a user wrote, “Sir, we don’t know you,” insisting that only P-Square was truly recognized.
Peter responded with several bucket emojis, a gesture he has recently adopted to mock critics by implying they are “crying.” When the troll pressed further, asking how he felt performing without his twin brother Paul, Peter doubled down with even more bucket emojis.
This incident comes just weeks after another online user told him to “swallow his pride” and reconcile with his brother. Peter Okoye dismissed that suggestion as well, telling the user to “cry more” and offering them a pail.
In a separate post, Peter made a firm declaration regarding the group’s status. Responding to another tweet, Peter Okoye announced that P-Square no longer exists, stating that he now functions solely as a solo artist. He added that Nigerians should “deal with it,” noting that Paul Okoye and their elder brother Jude Okoye are now the ones continuing together, while he has moved on with his individual career.
The singer’s blunt responses have since sparked debate online, with fans reacting to both his comments and the renewed attention on the long-standing split of the once-popular music duo.
