Nigerian comedian and actor, Nasboi has revealed why he had to put a stop to his imitation of superstar singer, Davido which brought him into the limelight.
In a new interview, Nasboi revealed that he dropped his Davido imitation because he knew people would eventually get tired of it. The comedian was speaking to TVC's Titi and Mazino on the station's breakfast show, Wake Up Nigeria.
Nasboi, who has since created two other characters, Akpan and Ikechukwu revealed that he realized that his Davido imitation might not last. He explained that whenever he went out, everyone called him OBO and he knew they would soon get tired of it. When asked if he likes that people immediately think of the DMW boss when they see him, Nasboi replied;
I've played out of the character, I guess. Basically, people don't talk about it anymore. I think last year or early this year, I walk on the street and people are like OBO! OBO! So, I decided to show some other characters, because I am very certain that they will get tired of the character. It's normal, I've seen it. That's Nigeria for you. They get excited over new things and all of a sudden, they're gone. So I decided to show my other characters.

Trust me, my other characters earned me movie roles. I am sure if I was doing the low-budget OBO character constantly, I would have been gone by now.
