The toxicology test aimed at determining the cause of death for Popular Nigerian rapper, Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, has reached completion, shedding new light on the ongoing investigation into his demise.
Lagos State Counsel, Oluwaseun Akinde, confirmed this development during a session at the coroner's court situated in the Ikorodu area of the state back in November 2023. Akinde clarified that while the autopsy had examined the external body, the toxicological analysis delved into the interior.
According to an anonymous state government official familiar with the matter, the test results were recently dispatched to the DNA and Forensic Centre. Subsequently, they were handed over to the police earlier this week.
"The toxicology test is ready and given to the police," the source revealed. "We projected 10 weeks from the outset but it came in before then. It was received by the DNA and Forensic Centre last week and has been sent to the police."
Another undisclosed source within the Lagos State Police Command confirmed the receipt of the toxicology report, highlighting the need for interpretation by pathologists before dissemination to the public.

"The toxicology report is with us," the source stated. "It arrived on Monday but it is medical jargon for us. We don’t understand what it is. Even you will never understand what it is. So, it has been sent to the pathologists who carried out the autopsy to interpret it in layman’s terms."
Recall that late Mohbad tragically passed away at the age of 27 on September 12, 2023, prompting widespread concern among Nigerians. In response, the Lagos State Police Command established a 13-man special investigation team six days later to probe the circumstances surrounding his death.
The investigation led to the arrest of several individuals, including his former music boss, Naira Marley, controversial Lagos socialite, Sam Larry, and his close friend Primeboy, among others.
