DMW singer, Liya has revealed how she got signed to the label within 5 hours of meeting Davido and playing her songs for him.
In a new interview with The Petite Talker, Liya explains that Davido signed her to his DMW record label after just 5 hours of their first meeting. The interview was shared via Instagram on Saturday, the 20th of November 2021.
Liya got signed to DMW Records about a year ago, immediately dropping a new single titled Melo with her new boss. In January, Davido announced that work had started on the singer's debut project and there was no pressure for her to deliver at all. In August, Liya dropped her debut EP titled Alari.
Alari, a Yoruba word for "Standout", sees the DMW first lady showcase her talent over six tracks rooted in her Yoruba culture and heritage. The EP also features label boss and Afrobeat's poster-boy Davido on the second track titled Lakiribito.

In her new interview with The Petite Talker, Liya explains how Davido signed her within 5 hours of their first meeting. According to her, she met him at the club through Peruzzi and after playing a couple of her songs for him, he was hooked and made the announcement on Twitter immediately.
