King of Afrobeat Davido, has declared that he's done chasing American collaborations. He emphasized that his priority is collaborating with artists who produce quality music.

King of Afrobeat Davido is on a media tour as he gears up for his Timeless concert at Madison Square Garden, New York. During an interview with Sway, Davido said he would not be disturbing himself for collaborations with American artists.

It has always been a dream of Davido's to perform at Madison Square Garden. That dream is about to become a reality as the King of Afrobeat takes the stage on April 17, 2024. Davido has been performing his biggest hits from his Timeless album in various countries. New York was finally added to the list. The King of Afrobeat told BET and Billboard, "I always said I want to be at the Garden. I think that’s every artist’s dream. The greats have performed there, like Michael Jackson".

During a media tour to promote his show, Davido made a stop at the Sway Universe radio show. He discussed his debut at MSG and the significant growth of Afrobeats. Davido highlighted how having an American artist on an Afrobeats track used to be a major event, but now, there's a widespread eagerness from artists of all backgrounds to collaborate within the genre. He said, "Apart from Chris Brown, I’m not going to disturb myself for an American collaboration. Rihanna said Unavailable is her best song, so I’m waiting to work with her”. He also said that he has a potential Victoria Monet collaboration coming up.
