Popular Nigerian musician and activist, Folarin Falana, better known as Falz, has added his voice to the ongoing national protests.
In a series of cryptic tweets, the singer expressed concern about the government’s handling of the situation. "How long do you think you can keep on pushing the people back before it blows up in your face?" Falz questioned in one tweet. He followed this up with, "You tried to make it look like the protests were ‘politically motivated’. Shebi una don see now?"
The singer seemed to be referring to the government's attempts to discredit the protests as politically motivated. He continued, "They say make you leave am, you no gree. Say na your birthright. You can’t now turn a deaf ear." In a final tweet, Falz expressed frustration and disbelief: "Genuinely don’t know why it’s so difficult to be humane."
As the situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how the government will respond to the growing public outcry.
