Afrobeats sensation Davido has opened up about the important role his wife, Chioma, played in the making of his latest album, 5ive.
The chart-topping project, released on April 18, 2025, features 17 tracks and notable collaborations with Grammy-winning artists Victoria Monét and Chris Brown. The album made an impressive debut, securing the number 2 spot on the World Albums chart and earning 7,000 equivalent album units in its first week.
In a recent interview, Davido expressed his gratitude to Chioma for her unwavering support and positive energy throughout the album’s recording process.
"Shoutout to Chioma. When I was recording the album, she was around and gave me the energy to work," the music star shared.
Davido also revealed that Chioma has a personal favorite on the album, 5ive. According to him, she’s particularly fond of the track ‘10 Kilo’, noting that it has recently become her top pick.
"When I spoke with her two days ago, she’s shifting towards ‘10 Kilo’," he added.
Fans have since celebrated the couple’s bond, applauding Chioma’s supportive presence in Davido’s creative journey.
