Nigerian international star, David Adeleke, famously known as Davido, has found himself embroiled in social media controversy after a typo in his Mother's Day message sparked backlash from trolls on the platform X.

Participating in the global celebration of Mother's Day on Sunday, May 12, 2024, Davido took to social media to honor mothers worldwide. However, an inadvertent typographical error in his tweet, which read, "Hapoy Mother's Day!" instead of "Happy Mother's Day," became the focal point for ridicule among fans.

Despite the typo likely being an innocent mistake, rival fans seized the opportunity to mock Davido, especially given his high profile in the music industry. The DMW label boss, who lost his mother, Veronica Adeleke, at a young age, faced taunts and criticism over the error.

One X user took aim at Davido's linguistic skills and musical prowess, sarcastically questioning his command of English and musical talent. The user's comment, dripping with sarcasm, emphasized Davido's financial success despite perceived shortcomings in other areas.

The incident occurred following Mother's Day greetings from Davido's colleague, Wizkid, adding fuel to the flames of the ongoing rivalry between the two artists.

While the typo may have been a minor oversight, Davido's experience highlights the scrutiny and criticism that public figures often face on social media platforms, where even the slightest error can quickly become fodder for online trolling and ridicule.
