Burna Boy is at the centre of attention once again following his statement on Nigerian artists who have soldout London stadiums.
Afrobeat sensation Burna Boy has once again ignited a firestorm across social media following bold claims regarding his historic performance at the London Stadium.
The "African Giant" made the remarks while presenting his official London Stadium Sold Out Plaque to Engineer Matthew Tonlagha in celebration of Tonlagha’s 50th birthday. The gesture, intended to be a tribute to a mentor and friend, quickly turned into a focal point for online debate due to the singer's assertive phrasing.
During the presentation, Burna Boy handed over the commemorative plaque with a speech that revealed:
“In 2023, as we all know, I was the only one that attempted and succeeded in selling out the London stadium in Africa... This right here means history, and you are history.”
The plaque commemorates his June 2023 Love, Damini tour stop, where he became the first African artist to headline and sell out the 80,000-capacity venue.
This statement adds fresh fuel to the ongoing "Big Three" rivalry between Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido.
