The artist, known for his distinctive style and lyrical prowess, expressed a strong aversion to signing with fellow Afrobeat giants, Wizkid, Burna Boy, or Davido.

During the interview that surfaced online on Saturday, April 6, 2024, Brymo recounted an incident where he arrived late to a scheduled event and instead of apologizing, made a crude remark directed at his fans. When asked if he would consider signing with one of the mentioned artists' record labels as a gesture of apology to Nigerians and a sign of change, Brymo vehemently refused.

"I would rather go to hell," Brymo asserted, emphasizing his stance against aligning himself with any of the aforementioned artists. He explained that his previous comment was meant as a joke and insisted it was a one-time occurrence.

The singer expressed concern that the incident, which occurred three years ago, continues to resurface, indicating a lingering impact on his reputation. Despite attempts to clarify his intentions, Brymo finds himself grappling with the lasting repercussions of his words.

As the debate surrounding his controversial statements persists, Brymo remains focused on his music career while navigating the complexities of public scrutiny.
