Fans can't help but speculate that BNXN might have just casually revealed artists featured on his new album with his latest update.
Nigerian singer BNXN may have just dropped his biggest hint yet about what fans can expect from his forthcoming project.
The Afrobeats star sent social media into speculation mode after sharing a cryptic Instagram post featuring the names of Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Rema and Asake — five of the biggest names in Nigerian music.
Although BNXN stopped short of explaining what the names represented, the post has fueled speculation that the artistes could be among the guest features on his incoming project.
Should that turn out to be the case, BNXN could be assembling one of the most star-studded Afrobeats projects in recent years.
Having Davido, Wizkid and Burna Boy potentially appear on the same project would particularly attract attention, given the trio's status as three of the most influential Nigerian artistes of their generation. Adding Rema and Asake two of the leading stars of the newer generation, would make the potential lineup even bigger.
The speculation is also strengthened by BNXN's history of working with some of the names he teased.
BNXN and Wizkid previously linked up on “Mood,” one of the standout tracks from Wizkid’s Made in Lagos: Deluxe Edition. His relationship with Burna Boy goes even further, with BNXN previously signed to Burna Boy’s Spaceship Records and collaborating with him on songs including “Kilometre Remix.”
He has also worked with Asake, meaning another collaboration between the pair would not be out of place.
However, fans may have to wait before getting too excited.
BNXN has not officially stated that Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Rema or Asake will feature on the project, and his recent post could ultimately be teasing something entirely different.
With no official tracklist released yet, the identities of the featured artistes remain unconfirmed.
Still, dropping five of Afrobeats’ biggest names in a post while anticipation builds around a new project is unlikely to go unnoticed.
Whether BNXN has casually revealed an enormous guest list or is simply keeping fans guessing remains to be seen.
