Rema has opened up about how he pioneered the Afro-rave sound and how Afrobeats were important in creating this new style of music.

Calm Down crooner, Rema has opened up about how he created the Afro-rave sound, highlighting the role of Afrobeats in making such a sound happen.

Rema during his interview with Hot 97 an American radio station, spoke about how Afrobeats is the mother tree to other Afro sounds out of the continent and that his style, which is called the Afro-rave, is how he sees or views Afrobeats.

He acknowledges the fact that he developed a distinct style, which is called Afro-rave highlighting that many did not believe in the sound at first, but he is very happy people are consuming this sound now.
