Adekunle Gold, in his latest update on social media, has reacted to the death of popular Nigerian actor Ogogo.

Multiple award-winning singer and performer Adekunle Gold has joined the long list of celebrities who have taken to social media to react to the shocking news of the death of veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.

The singer took to his social media platform, X, formerly known as Twitter, to share a post that read, "Ogogo made our childhood special. Thankful for all the memories, Rest easy, legend."

Adekunle Gold, who had initially announced the upcoming release of the live album for Fuji, wasted no time in honouring one of the greats in Nollywood when the news broke.

Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 66, after battling stage-four cancer. His daughter, Kira Hassan, confirmed his death, and veteran actor Jide Kosoko also announced his passing.

According to reports from his family, Ogogo had been diagnosed with advanced cancer only a few weeks before his death. The illness had affected his abdomen, causing severe pain and swelling. His condition was reportedly so advanced that doctors said chemotherapy was no longer an option, while he was also deemed medically unfit to travel to India for treatment.
