Uganda's, 10th Annual Hip-Hop For Society By BPU Is Here.

At every start of the year in January, the Breakdance Project Uganda (BPU) puts together an event known as the "Hip-Hop For Society" that brings together thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds to witness and celebrate the positive roles of hip-hop in society. Breakdance Project Uganda (BPU)  is a voluntary non-profit organization founded in 2006 that uses breakdance, Hip-Hop, arts and education for empowerment and positive social change as well as promoting social responsibility.

This annual event highlights one of BPU’s main objectives, which is; promoting the importance of both formal and non-formal education and increasing people’s access both.The event features live performances interactive workshops, inspiring speeches, educational discussions, video screenings and exhibitions. Performances combine elements of hiphop including; breakdance, rap, beatboxing, graffiti. This year the event will happen under the theme of "What is education?" which resonates with one of BPU's main objectives.

In addition to the learning and performances, there will be stalls selling merchandise and providing further information about featured organizations and community activities are also set up. All this will be accessed fro free no cover charge at Sharing Youth Centre, Nsambya, (Ggabba Rd) Kampala, Uganda on Sunday 22nd January, 2PM.
