Octopizzo makes history with new album "Refugeenius"
Kenyan rapper Octopizzo has dropped his most unique music project yet. The 18-track album"Refugeenius" features artistes from various refugee camps. Unlike his usual hard core rap, the album is a compilation of gospel and secular songs from artistes in camps located in South Sudan, Somalia, Ethiopia, Burundi, DRC and Uganda. This is part of his Refugee Art Project.
An ambassador of his hood - Kibera - Octo is also famed for witty wordplay and hard spitting bars. He launched the album in a event held at the Prestige Plaza, Nairobi on 3rd December, 2016. "Refugeenius" features songs such as Flalala, Machampagne,Turn Up, Usilie, Yozamalamu, Bet Kimo and Last Shot by Octopizzo himself. Funded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), "Refugeenius" aims to influence people from all over the world to embrace refugees. Octo congrats!
