2 Players withdraw from Nigeria's squad ahead of Mali fixture

Reports now confirm that two players have left the Super Eagles of Nigeria training camp ahead of the international friendly against Mali.

The interim coach for the Super Eagles of Nigeria Finidi George confirmed in an official statement at his pre-match press conference that Fulham defender Calvin Bassey and Brentford's Frank Onyeka will both not be available for the team ahead of the second international friendly fixture against Mali scheduled to take place tomorrow, Tuesday, March 25, 2024.

Calvin Bassey and Frank Onyeka, the two formidable players of the Super Eagles, have decided to leave the team's camp before Tuesday's international friendly match against Mali. Bassey had to miss the previous game against Ghana due to an undisclosed reason, while Onyeka played in the game.

Both players have now departed for their base in the United Kingdom, where they will continue their recovery and rehabilitation. As the business end of the season approaches, they aim to regain their fitness and be in top shape for their clubs.
