Euro 2024: Gareth Southgate invites Manchester United player as a late addition to the England squad

The head coach of the England national team, Gareth Southgate has invited Manchester United goalkeeper, Tom Heaton as the latest addition to the squad ahead of Euro 2024.

The announcement was made on Monday, June 10, 2024, which is just four days before the start of the much-anticipated competition which begins on Friday, June 14, 2024. According to reports from England camp, Manchester United's goalkeeper, Tom Heaton will be used as a training goalkeeper which means he will not feature in any game.

Southgate released his final 26-man list for the Euro 2024 which will hosted in Germany. However, there were eyebrows raised by some supporters of England following the omission of some players from the provisional squad.

The notable names omitted from the final squad list include James Maddison and Jack Grealish while Harry Maguire was ruled out due to an injury he picked up last season.
