Ghanaian Artist Medikal sells out London's 2,000 capacity arena

Ghanaian rapper Medikal has achieved a major milestone in his music career, selling out the 2,800-capacity O2 Indigo venue in London for his debut UK headline show on May 3, 2024.

This marks the first time a Ghanaian musician has filled the prestigious O2 Indigo arena. Ahead of the highly anticipated concert, the venue was lit up in celebration of Medikal's accomplishment, showcasing his growing popularity and impact on the global music scene.

Several prominent Ghanaian artists, including Sarkodie and Shatta Wale, have joined Medikal in London to perform alongside him at the sold-out show. Medikal, known for his fast-paced rap style, witty wordplay, and energetic stage presence, has firmly established himself as a leading figure in the Ghanaian music industry. His recent album Planning & Plotting has further solidified his status, contributing to the overwhelming demand for tickets to his London debut.

Speaking to entertainment analyst Yaw Boadu-Ayeboafoh, the significance of Medikal's achievement was highlighted: "For the impact, it is massive, especially for Medikal, who took a risk to perform at the venue. It also gives hope to other musicians from Ghana to try and get to perform at that venue."
