Youngest players in history to score in Euro and the World Cup

Only a few young players have made history by scoring in a major tournament such as the European Championship (EURO) or FIFA World Cup. The record was previously held by Brazil's legend, Pele, who scored a goal at the age of 17 at the FIFA World Cup.

Here is a list of the youngest players who have scored in a major competition.

Gavi scored his World Cup goal in Spain's opening match of the 2022 tournament. The midfielder showcased his talent to the world in a 7-0 win over Costa Rica.

Pelé became the youngest player to score in the World Cup. The Brazilian legend scored in the 1958 World Cup quarter-final against Wales. He went on to score a hat-trick in the semi-final and two more goals in the final. Pelé's early success helped Brazil win their first World Cup.
