The contract of Gary O'Neil as the manager of Wolves has been terminated by the club following their form since the beginning of the 2024/25 season.
Wolves confirmed the termination of Gary O'Neil on its official website on Sunday, December 15, 2024, after the 2-1 disappointing result against Ipswich Town. The fans of the club have been expressing their displeasure, especially after the 4-0 defeat against Everton.
The last few results have left Wolves with nine points from 16 games, and they are currently placed 19th in the Premier League, which sees them four points from 17th-placed Crystal Palace.
What did Gary O'Neil say after the game against Ipswich?
"That group need me to get them in a place where they're ready to go and I'll keep fighting for them," he told Sky Sports in his final interview as head coach. "And that 5doesn't mean I'm not going to get sacked. For every result, the chances of me losing my job will heighten, that's nothing new - it doesn't concern me"
O'Neil guided Wolves to 14th last season, but saw star players Pedro Neto and Max Kilman depart for Chelsea and West Ham in the summer
