Former Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny could be on his way out of retirement to join Barcelona as a free agent on a loan deal for the rest of the 2024/25 season.
Wojciech Szczesny confirmed his retirement from football at the age of 34, after he decided not to sign a contract extension with Serie A side, Juventus. There are reports that the reason why the Polish goalkeeper is looking at coming out of retirement is to replace Barcelona's Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who suffered an injury in the league game against Barcelona.
There are some unconfirmed reports that Wojciech Szczesny's decision is because of his relationship with Barcelona striker and fellow Polish star Robert Lewandowski, while he is well-known to Flick's staff following his experiences in European football.
Szczesny was last in action at Euro 2024 in the summer when he played two of Poland's three group games at the tournament.
The other goalkeeper on Barcelona's radar is former Real Madrid and Paris Saint-German goalkeeper Keylor Navas, who played for the Galacticos from 2014-2019, before completing his move to the French capital.
