There are a couple of names that have been in the news that will take over as a possible replacement at the Catalonia club. Barcelona announced the termination of Xavi Hernandez's contract on its website on Friday, May 24, 2024.
However, the preferred person to take over from the Barcelona legend is former Bayern Munich manager, Hansi Flick.

The 59-year-old has experience not just with national teams, he led Bayern Munich to the treble, winning the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and Champions League. club in 2020, a feat that has only been achieved with a few managers.
Flick's relationship with Barcelona's forward player, Robert Lewandowski will come in handy because of their relationship at Bayern Munich for two seasons. However, he has been out of coaching job since September 2023 after he was sacked by Germany.

Xavi recently confirmed a contract extension with Barcelona after both parties reached an agreement that it was in their best interest for the Spaniard to continue his role as manager of the Catalonia club. He was asked if Barcelona had what it takes to compete for major trophies with the current squad. Xavi responded to the question sincerely, but his response may have put his job at risk.

There is no news yet from Xavi's camp concerning his future but he is expected to get a top-profile job before the start of next season with Chelsea and Manchester United among the clubs who might be ready to snap him up.
