Chelsea and Newcastle United took centre stage in the ongoing Premier League summer series in their second games of the competition.
The Blues came into the game with a victory over Brighton while the Magpies drew their first game against Aston Villa by coming from two goals down. Chelsea started the game on fire when Nicolas Jackson opened scoring a goal in the 12th minute while Miguel Almiron equalised before the halftime break.
There were chances for both sides in the second half but most especially for Chelsea, however, Nick Pope made some amazing saves to stop the Blues from coming out with maximum points in the match.
Reece James started the game as captain of the team, one dream he has always looked forward to as he continues to try to get his full fitness back.
Chelsea moves on to face West London rivals Fulham in Landover on Sunday evening, while Newcastle play Brighton on Saturday night in New Jersey.
