Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen shone like a million stars from Galatasaray in the Round of season second leg clash against Juventus in the UEFA Champions League game.
The Nigerian striker announced himself on Europe’s biggest stage for the Istanbul giants since the beginning of this season’s Champions Lgoals. Victor Osimhen scored another goal in the game against Juventus taking his tally to seven and 13 since he joined the Turkish club.
He has helped Galatasaray compete strongly in the group stage and boosted their ambitions of reaching the knockout rounds. One of the standout moments of his campaign was a remarkable hat-trick against Ajax, making him only the second Nigerian to score three goals in a single Champions League match.
That performance not only underlined his clinical finishing but also placed him among the season's best player in the world. His ability to deliver in decisive European fixtures further strengthened.
Osimhen also became the first Galatasaray player to score braces in back-to-back Champions League matches, a feat that highlighted his consistency at the highest level. In doing so, he has joined an elite list of Galatasaray forwards who have left their mark on the competition, including club legend Burak Yılmaz, who previously achieved similar European scoring heroics.
Osimhen’s goals also elevated him in Nigerian football history. He surpassed the long-standing Champions League goal record of Obafemi Martins to become Nigeria’s highest-scoring player in the competition.
